Six years ago today I married my best bud. I think the last year has been the hardest for our marriage, but because of that, also the best. We've worked through our share of challenges this year and I'm so glad to say, no matter the topic, we come out on the other end of a discussion knowing we want to be together and will do what it takes to support each other. I'm so glad to have Brian with me on this journey called life.
Though our anniversary is technically today, we had planned to celebrate yesterday. We left the boys with Grandma and Papa for one more night, and came home. Our dinner reservations were not to be. To make a long, itchy, uncomfortable story short, I had a major allergy attack on Friday, rubbed my poor, itchy, on fire eyeballs one too many times, and somewhere along the line scratched my right cornea. So, upon returning home I went to urgent care and was given an eye patch. Dinner plans were immediately cancelled. Instead, we drove around town, waiting for the 24-hour pharmacy to get my Rx transferred from an already closed pharmacy, then fill it. We got home about 8:45 and enjoyed our white paper sack dinner over a candlelit jar.
In the end, it didn't matter if we had a fancy, pillar candle lit dinner or a quick, jar candle lit dinner. We enjoyed each other's company and laughed about the day's turn of events. And laughing with my husband on our 6th Anniversary was the best part of all.
Happy Anniversary Luther's! You deserve to celebrate - it has been a crazy year and well look at all you have after 6 years together! And those two adorable boys.
