Six Months (and a few weeks)

We had Brody's six-month pictures taken this morning. As usual, he was his happy self and getting smiling pictures was no problem. It was the same photographer that did Brody's three-month pictures, and he really seems to have a knack for getting Brody to give big smiles.

I bought a package that included the disk of pictures, so I've put several here on the blog. These are the un-edited images, so you may see the studio floor in the background.

I just love the way he has his eyebrows raised in the picture below - it's so Brody.

Swimming, Fishing, Climbing

The title sounds like an advertisement for Gander Mountain doesn't it?It's a summary of some of the activities we enjoyed this past weekend at the cabin. We brought our friend's the Idstein's with us. The kids had a great time together, and managed to stay pretty busy and out of trouble for the most part.
Saturday morning we swam at the pool. The big pool is a bit chilly, but Dylan braved the waters in Daddy's arms.

Brody had a mid-morning bottle, then settled in his shaded stroller for a rest by the pool. How lovely that must have been.

Dylan much preferred the bath-like temperature of the baby pool.

After dinner, the kids enjoyed ice cream cones out on the deck.

Dylan absolutely LOVED having Joey there. As you can see by this picture, he thinks Joey hung the moon.

Here, the boys are picking flowers for their Momma's. What sweet little guys. And I just love the way this picture captures the classic toddler crouch.

Sunday morning we headed down to the Marina for a little fishing action. This was Dylan's first fishing experience. He did a great job of being patient, especially for a two-year old. He really didn't want to sit and hold the pole though. He seemed to want to pierce a fish with the end of his pole, but as you can imagine, that didn't work too well. He really enjoyed reeling the line in. So Brian kept releasing the line, and Dylan would reel it back in.

There is a playground and sandy beach near the Marina. Dylan lasted about a half an hour on the dock before he wanted to play in the sand. There was a giant pile of it, and he kept saying "I'm on top of a castle!"

Brody had a taste of my ice cream cone last night. He made a funny face on the first taste, but wanted more. Pretty soon there were no more funny faces, only grunts of wanting more. He was holding onto my arms, trying to reach the cone. He physically lifted his own body weight trying to reach my ice cream cone!

Brotherly Love

I'm proud to say Brody got a second tooth, and is sitting up entirely on his own now. He's such a big boy!

I asked Dylan to sit near Brody, so I could take their picture together. This is what he did...

I think it pretty clearly shows the ego-centricity of a two-year old! :)

Just an Illusion?

It's so blurry, I can't be sure, but it appears to be a picture of Brian doing housework!
