We've had a bit of a rough start to 2009. On December 30th, my Grandma had a massive stroke. The following day, it was determined that she would be unable to recover from the damage the stroke had caused, and the decision was made to transfer her to hospice care. It was a long week of waiting for phone calls from my family, and on Saturday, January 3rd 2009, Grandma passed away.
We are headed to MN this weekend, and the memorial service will be on Monday the 12th. Though I believe she is at rest now and in a better place, we will miss her wit and presence at family functions.
I'm sorry for your loss. I'm glad that you get to go to MN for the funeral. You are in my thoughts.
