Oreos

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! If I had been better prepared, we would have had a green lunch. On my way home from the Y I did a mental inventory of the pantry, and couldn’t think of that many green things we could eat for lunch. Oh well, next year! :)

Speaking of the Y, I told Dylan this morning we were going to the Y to play. He said “Don’t wanna go”. I chose to ignore that, and assumed he meant “Yes, yes, take me to the Y”. We got there, and he had a howling, screaming, crying, runny nose fit. He absolutely did NOT want to play there. I sat down with him and read a book, hoping he’d see how much fun it is there! I handed him over to the ladies with instructions to page me in ten minutes if he hadn’t settled down. Just as I was breaking into a sweat on the elliptical machine, I heard my name being paged to the child care center. It’s tempting to feel like I never get a break, but today I’ve decided to have a new attitude - maybe he’ll make it fifteen minutes next time, and then twenty after that. Sooner or later he’ll realize it’s a fun place and I’m not going to abandon him there!

I went through the car wash today for the first time with Dylan in the car. His eyes were as big as quarters, and I could see he was becoming very concerned when the big washing pieces started to move. I just told him our van was getting a bath and he seemed okay with that.

Here are a few pictures of Dylan eating an oreo. It’s funny how people of all ages seem to take apart the cookie to eat the good stuff inside!

Dylan had a hair cut this morning too! I’ll try to get a few pictures of him this afternoon and post them soon. Each time he gets a hair cut he seems to look more like a big boy. Can you hear me sniffing?
