9 month pictures

We went this morning for Brody's nine month pictures. It is so hard to choose which ones to have printed! Here are some of the pictures that I thought were cute.

So NOT getting a picture with a football in it, but I thought his delight was cute!

Nine Months!

Little Bebe turned 9 months old a few days ago. We had his check-up this morning, here are his stats:

Height: 28 1/4"

Weight: 20 lbs, 6 oz.

Head: 44 cm (I think they measure the head in cm?)

Just two shots today, his final Hepatitis B and his first Influenza. We go back in another month for the other half of the dose.

I forgot all about our walking toys until this past weekend. I brought them up from the basement, and Brody is in L.O.V.E. He can even walk behind the toys, although they are giant, staggering steps, it was still fun to see he could do it.

So let's see, what is Brody like at 9 months? He is currently drinking 36 oz a day, and the doctor told me it should be a max of 24 oz. I guess lil' B is going on a diet of sorts. Even though he shuns jarred baby food, Dr. Baptist wants me to persist, and not let Brody give that up yet. He wears a size 3 diaper, and 12 month clothing. Last night his jammies were dirty, so we put some 18 month pj's on him, and they weren't too big. He is the typical little brother, wants to play with everything Dylan has. He is very persistent and will not be distracted to play with something else. He goes to bed at 8 p.m., and wakes up around 5 a.m. for a bottle. Lately we've been putting him back in bed as opposed to staying up with him, and he generally goes back to sleep within ten minutes. He smiles at all animals in his presence, really enjoys outings, and LOVES to ride the swings at the park. That is a serious departure from his big brother's idea of fun. He tends to fuss when he falls down, but seems to be getting better about that. He dislikes being put in the car seat, doesn't seem to like to wear hats, and always has something in his mouth!

Family Pictures

We are lucky enough to have a friend who is a photography hobbyist. Our friend Nate Berry, and his wife Erin went with us out to the State Park yesterday and we took a bunch of pictures. Nate just kept snapping - he realized you have to take a million pictures to get two good ones of kids.

We did the pictures later in the afternoon (after nap time of course), and the sun was beginning to set. We had some interesting shadows, but I am really pleased with some of the pictures. Nate also took some great candids.

A little boy kicked Dylan as he climbed the steps to the stairs. Makes you want to cry for him doesn't it?

Pumpkin Patch

I love fall! I love decorating our front porch with a straw bale, pumpkins, corn stalks, scarecrow, and mums! I love coming home to a festive front porch.
Every year that we've lived here, I've taken a picture of our decorated front porch. Starting in 2006, it was decorated with a little boy too! This year, I tried to get a picture of both boys on the porch. Getting a toddler who suddenly refuses to smile to smile, and a baby to look and smile proved to be rather difficult.

Daddy took the day off from work today, and we went out to the Pumpkin Patch. It was nice to go on a Friday, because it is jam packed on the weekends.

Here is our little punkin' amongst the pumpkins.

Oooh, a train!

It was a little chilly today, and we decided to warm up with some apple-cider donuts and warm drinks. In Dylan's case, he had some "coffee" in his pumpkin sipper.

Brody even got to try little pieces of a donut and he seemed to enjoy it.

The Pumpkin Patch is something else. Around every bend is another photo opportunity. There must have been 50 cut-outs, just waiting for people to stick their heads in!

They had several inflatables. Dylan said he wanted to go down the big slide. They only allow children on it, so that meant no mommy or daddy riding along. He climbed the steps, got to the top, and stood there. He looked down at the big slide, then promptly crawled back down the steps. Maybe next year!

Brian got back from Nashville on Thursday night, and it was so nice to have a family outing today.

The toys are back

This is how our play room normally looks. Proof that indeed, the toys are back from their stay in the basement.

Does this kid look like a hockey player, or what? I think he's exhausted, in addition to having some scrapes, that must be why he has blue looking shadows beneath his eye. Poor baby.

What's with the dishwasher obsession? Dylan used to do this too. I have to unload and reload the dishwasher in secret!

Tee, hee, hee. I think I'm so clever. No, they are not girls and no, they are not twins, but I will dress them the same anyway!!
