Brotherly Love

I'm proud to say Brody got a second tooth, and is sitting up entirely on his own now. He's such a big boy!

I asked Dylan to sit near Brody, so I could take their picture together. This is what he did...

I think it pretty clearly shows the ego-centricity of a two-year old! :)

Curious George

While I was reading books to Dylan tonight, he decided to put on his Curious George slippers. They are still so big on him, they look like ski boots! He has a newfound interested in Curious George however, and I think he is very pleased to have these slippers in his inventory.

In the picture below, I asked him to look at the camera. No.

We're so lucky to be home together all day, playing outside and getting a nice (sun-blocked) summer tan!

Adventures in Potty Training?

Notice the title includes a question mark.

Dylan was running around naked, waiting for Brian to put a diaper on him after a shower. I was busy with Brody, and asked Dylan to sit on the potty until Brian could get to him. Dylan did sit, and he peed on the potty!

The next night before bed, we asked him if he wanted to use the potty chair. He said yes, and he did!

The following morning I asked him to use it again, and he did. He's been very successful. The entire morning (Tuesday) he had a dry diaper, because he was on the potty chair every ten minutes. I think he is enjoying dumping the urine into the big toilet and watching it get flushed away. He seems to pee just enough to get something flush-worthy, and then five minutes later does it again.

He also did not want to wear undies or a diaper for the majority of the morning (THUS the reason he was on the potty every ten minutes...)

I asked him if he wanted to poop on the potty, and he said no. But he was willing to sit back, wait, and give it a try.
Now today he doesn't want anything to do with the potty chair. I'm not going to push him to use it, but we certainly are going to encourage it.

He seems to have a fear of pooping on the potty chair. I'm thinking bribery might be in order. We saw a Woody and Jessie pull-string doll set at Toys'R'Us over the weekend. He was devastated to leave the store without them. They might be a good incentive to poop on the chair.

6 Months

Brody had his six month check-up this morning. Here are his stats:

17 lbs, 10 oz

26 1/2 inches long

I've learned that numbers don't mean a lot when you look back, it's more fun to have interesting tidbits of information. So here are some fun things about Brody at six months:

*He rolls over both ways

*He sleeps on his tummy

*He smiles at everyone, and EVERYONE comments on how happy he is!

*He babbles - a lot!

*His first tooth came out a few days ago

*He LOVES to watch Dylan

*He's had Rice and Oatmeal cereal, and liked both

*He's had Squash, Sweet Potatoes, Peas, Carrots, Green Beans and Prunes. He doesn't LOVE the prunes as much as he seems to enjoy everything else.
